TNS Energo congratulates Russian skaters on their sensational wins at the World Championships!
On 24 March 2013 the World Single Distance Speed Skating Championship finished in Sochi. The Russian national team picked up two gold, and three bronze medals, just behind the Dutch who have been the leaders in this event for many years.
Denis Yuskov (the men’s 1500m) and Olga Fatkulina (women’s 1000m) have added two gold medals to the Russian speed skating team’s total. These individual wins are the first in 17 years for the Russian team (Svetlana Zhurova and Sergei Klevchenya won gold in 1996) at the World Single Distance Championship.

Thanks to the efforts of Ivan Skobrev, the Russian team has also won two bronzes in the 1,500 m and 5,000 m events. Olga Fatkulina added a bronze in the 500 m to her 1,000 m gold.

Dmitry Arzhanov, the General Director of the TNS Energo Group, congratulated the Russian national team on their successful performances:

“These wins by our Russian athletes are not only historically significant but strategically important and promising on the threshold of the Olympic season. Our company, in partnering the Skating Union of Russia for over a year, is following the latest developments in this kind of sport with great interest. The Russian national team has demonstrated an impressive improvement in a short period of time and has given hope to millions of Russian fans. The team has challenged the Dutch dominance so that the Dutch no longer look so convincing. Well played! Keep it up! From the bottoms of our hearts we wish you the very best on your path to conquer the Olympics.”!
