‘The final day of the European Short Track Championship in Dresden turned into an occasion of absolute triumph for the Russian national men’s team. Victor An, Semen Elistratov and Vladimir Grigoriev dominated all the other countries. Now, in the run-up to the Olympic Games it is hard to hold the euphoria about the wins in check, but we can certainly rejoice in being ‘showered with such success,’ - reads the press release placed on the website of the Russian Union of Ice Skaters.
“We offer our heart-felt congratulations to the athletes who have won at these important pre-Olympic games and who have shown an unprecedented level of sportsmanship as they have asserted their right to leadership in a tough struggle with their opponents! We really appreciate the special feeling of national pride that you have given to your fans! This remarkable win has further strengthened our belief in the success of the Russian men’s team at the forthcoming Winter Olympic Games!” said Dmitry Arzhanov, the General Director of the TNS Energy Group of Companies.
The TNS Energy Group started to work with the Russian Union of Ice-Skaters in 2012, when, after a long break, the all-Russia mass competitions ‘Ice, for Our Hopes and Expectations’ were organised with the support of the company. The following year, about 40,000 people simultaneously stepped onto the ice in 35 regions of the country to take part in the open tournament.
It is worth noting that the TNS Energy Group companies not only provide consistent support for high level record breaking, but also for children’s sports schools as well as for regional hockey, football and basketball clubs.
The personal interest shown by the heads of the regional power sales companies in the TNS Energy Group indicate the importance which is attached to sport through corporate policy. In particular, Vasily Sitdikov, the Managing Director of the Nizhny Novgorod Energy Retail Company, and Evgeny Severgin, the Managing Director of the Voronezh Energy Retail Company, each took part in the Olympic Torch Relay.
It is particularly noteworthy that both the Krasnodar region and Sochi, the capital of the 2014 Olympic Games, are amongst the 10 Russian regions where energy retail companies of the TNS Group provide consumer services.
