Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamass thanked Dmitry Arzhanov and Vasily Sitdikovfor help in construction of a temple in Nizhny Novgorod

The temple consecration ceremony took place at the end of August. The Metropolitan also awarded Vasily Sitdikov theSaint Faithful Prince Georgiy Vsevolodovich Medal on behalf of the Diocese of Nizhny Novgorod.

Metropolitan Georgiy, of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamass performed the Divine liturgy, consecrated the temple and thanked the architects and curatorsfor their participation in the construction of the church.

The Archpastorsaid «This is, perhaps, the best temple, built in the last hundred years in Nizhny Novgorod, from the standpoints of its decoration, beauty and structure. It is a great gift for the city’s inhabitants and for all the inhabitants of the Prioksky district.»

The temple complex, in the Nizhny Novgorod micro-district of Scherbinka-2, combines two temples: one, the Temple in Honour of the Great Martyr and Healer,Panteleimon, and the second, the Temple in Honour of Saint Holy John of Kronstadt (consecrated in 2013). The complexunites the features of the Byzantium and Veliky Novgorod church architecture styles. The temple has a capacity of800 people. The height of the building is 28 metres,with the bell towerrising to 34 metres.
